1986 started the Air Jordan period, both for Basketball as well as the shoe industry. It was in the NBA Draft of 1984 that Michael Jordan was chosen by the Chicago Bulls. He was the No. 3 over-all pick,  after the Olympic Basketball Team came home with the gold. As all of us know, Michael Jordan was the co-captain of the team. Nike came out with the Air Jordan I (1) as the company had an inkling that Michael Jordan would turn out to be the greatest player in NBA history yet. Peter Moore designed the first Air Jordan retro sneakers that paved way for all the other Jordan brand shoes.
